Happy New Year!

I'm so excited for the new year! For better or worse, 2012 has come to an end. Here's my list of resolutions,  what's yours?

Take more photos. I want to capture all the special moments. I'm not talking about taking pictures of my food, I mean taking pictures of people and places. Often times, I'll leave my camera at home so that I can just enjoy the moment (I don't want to see life through a lens all the time). But there are simple things that I want to remember the way they are right now, like the way my street looks in the winter, or the fireplace before a Friday Fun-day Movie Night.

Edit more photos. Despite what I would like to believe, sometimes photos could use a little help from Adobe. It takes much more effort to perfect everything, but a little goes a long way in the big scheme of things. It can make all the difference between "it's good" and "I'M SO PROUD."

Keep a toned body, even during the months of hibernation.

Eat healthy. I've banned myself from buying instant noodles and eating too much sugar. I have a long, challenging road ahead of me, since I love experimenting with ramen recipes. Going to break out my juicer and juice everything in hopes that I can find a similar love of something else.

Drink vitamins and supplements. Omega 3!!! Fish oils for your health. I'm this close to investing in a food journal so I can track my progress with sticking to a balanced diet, but food journaling will probably only come once I get my exercise routine down.

What I've Learned in 2012

  1. It pays to invest in a travelling budget.
  2. Go out and meet people even if you have no real reason just yet. It's daunting and there are probably going to be awkward moments, but they're worth it. Networking doesn't stop at just the number of Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/LinkedIn connections you have. Networking has helped me stay humble, learn about the interesting and eye-opening journeys other people have taken, and subsequently introduced new passions in my life.
  3. Put more money towards experiences and less into material goods. More festivals, concerts and cottage trips! More time with the people I love.
